| I have recently attained a few mpeg movies that will not play using WMP. The audio plays quite well, but no video.
I have the latest version full uninstall, reboot and reinstall.
When I uninstalled, I tried playing the file and it played fine w/o the codec pack in WMP.
WMP shows it as MPEG audio decoder and MPEG video decoder. Believe it to be mpeg 1 w/ mpeg 1 layer 2 audio.
I tried turning the mpeg 1 and 2 codecs on libavcodec (default disabled), but to no avail.
However it plays in nero showtime and quicktime w/ no problem.
I was able to convert it to avi/divx, which plays fine.
Just recently seemed to have this problem, of course most of the files nowadays are avi/divx.

| Hi,
It's likely that it's caused by the MPEG splitter, which has only recently been added to the pack.
Go to unistall, but select the "Custom Uninstall" then in the drop down menu select "Select None", then go down through the list and expand "Source Splitters & Filters", finally check the "MPEG Splitter" and click uninstall. | |

Problem with mpeg codec
