I have already told you that my package is not missing an x264 decoder, x264 can be decoded by h.264 decoders.
The ffdshow build I use has an x264/h.264 decoder which is labelled as h.264.

There is also an h.264 decoder by CyberLink in the advanced test package which also works with x264.

I've tested the following files to try and reproduce the problems you have:
BBC.HD.-.Planet.Earth.EP01.HDRE(1280x720).AC3.x264-Vico.mkv
BBC.HD.-.Planet.Earth.EP02.HDRE(1280x720).AC3.x264-Vico.mkv
BBC.HD.-.Planet.Earth.EP03.HDRE(1280x720).AC3.x264-Vico.mkv
I was able to play all of the files using both the 2005 build of ffdshow and CyberLinks h.264 decoder.

I've been testing a number of generic ffdshow builds by drevil_xxl, although they are not the SSE builds, I expect that they may be better.
If they are better I will add them to the codec packs, but if they are not I will look into other builds.

Yes that's right, by default the package uses the CyberLink decoder and ffdshow is disabled for h.264/x264, it's easy to enable again though.

I'm trying 20070209 (non SSE) now.

I've updated the 6.0.9 version test builds as follows:

ffdshow updated to xxl's 20070220 build (revision 944) (This is a non SSE build for compatibility & stability).
CyberLink's h.264 filter has been replaced by CoreAVC 0.0.0.4.
Removed Lame DS Filter 3.97 (Fails to load on a number of video's).
Haali splitter updated to 15/02/07 build.
VSFilter has been updated to a modified 2.37 version by Aegisub.

Playback of h.264/x264 is set to decode through ffdshow.

It should be much better for you.
