| There are a number of different versions of compression for ATRAC3 such as standard, MDLP 2, MDLP 4, ATRAC3Plus.
MDLP 2 is the one that there is a codec for, other than that it may be possible to convert using Real Player which supports MDLP4 and ATRAC3Plus.
Shouldn't you have a conversion application with the player anyway though?

| Hi there,
Sony provide an app called Sonic Stage (3.1) which converts MP3 to ATRAC3, but needs MP3 which is:
MPEG-1 Audio Layer3
Sampling frequency: 44.1kHz
Bit rate: 32 to 320kbps, variable bit rate-compliant
(I attached a sample file to first post)
Don't think BBC follows this standard with their radio downloads, so looking for a third party utility that translates our radio downloads to ATRAC3 for upload to device.
Can Cole2K do this? If so, how?

| The best way for you to convert it would be to convert it to wav and then convert it to ATRAC3 with Sonic Stage, there are other methods but the process can be very long and the codec available for applications is not as good as that featured in Sonic Stage.
To convert to wav you can use Audacity in the audio dub pack, open the mp3 in that and then select export as wav.
