Thanks.
A few recently fixed issues have been listed on the Haali site.
Since I've already released version 6.0.9 I'm going to wait a little longer before I release another update again.

I was examining my computer lately and i found out that device called "CPU to AGP controller" has installed wrong (or default) driver which is recomended for AGP 2x slots. I changed it for "CPU to AGP controller 2.0/3.0" which is for my motherboard more suitable.

(my board has Via chipset and AGP 2.0 [4x])

this action had many effects on video rendering.

1. I was unable to play FLV video and watch TV tuner simultaneously. Correct driver fixed this problem.
2. Directx9 and VMR9 performance improved
3. Haali Renderer is unable to render any frame - output is black screen

so...

AGP port driver is much responsible for DDraw behaviour. Wrong driver can cause issues with Direct VobSub, which can be fixed by "overlay"setting in FFD.

Bad thing is that this issue is caused by wrong driver... Via driver contains this issue, and mostly users dont know that their motherboard needs any driver. I think that this bug can occur at higher versions of windows but the question is how foolproof are generic drivers provided by MS.

I am sure by one thing - correct driver may improve not only system performance, but also stability and funcionality (multiple video streams throught same video renderer).

The AGP port drivers from Microsoft are usually the simplest that can possibly be used and capable of little more than office work.
You're right to believe that it affects other Windows versions as well, you'll find that almost all motherboards without an Intel chipset have issues of some sort with the Microsoft's distributed AGP port drivers.

as long i know even Intel based chipsets have issues.

It seems to be an incompatibility at hardware level between various chipsets, and graphics cards. Result is less functional DirectX.

Good thing is that all of them can be fixed by correct drivers, but most users think that motherboards do not even need any drivers...

the trouble is that hardware/driver issue can be explained as OS issue (if we are talking about w98) or as application issue (if we are talking about wXP), just because people dont know how much the drivers can do with system.
