Hi,

Great work for your silent installation

Is it possible to uninstall C2MP (V6.0.6) silently ?

Thanks

Hi, silent un-installation is blocked by the pack due to a number of people developing similar packages who set their packages to silently uninstall mine (In some cases it could cause serious problems).

Hi,
Bad news, we cannot deploy your packs if we cannot remove it in silent mode

What is the command you launch to start the Remove of C2MP from the Add/Remove program?
something like: Rundll32... ?

Thanks in advance

The uninstaller is accessible by executing Uninst.exe in:
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\C2MP" (32bit Windows XP)
"C:\WINDOWS\syswow64\C2MP" (64bit Windows XP)
"C:\WINNT\system32\C2MP" (Windows 2000)

Hi,
Is it possible to add some parameters to your Uninst.exe (i.e: /A (Full Automatic Uninstall) and /S for Silent ?
Thanks

Hi, no, the full automatic uninstall feature is not done in the same way as typical NSIS uninstallers and cannot be set to accept a parameter from the command line, well actually it could but unless I allowed a silent uninstall it would be pointless and lack functionality.
As I stated before regarding silent uninstall I will not enable it because of other vendors silently uninstalling my package.

There are also a number of other issues regarding silent installs/uninstalls:

This site recovers it's costs through the Google ads shown on the site and also the toolbar distributed with the codec packs.
One of the requirements for my partnership with Yahoo (regards the toolbar) is that I am not allowed to have the toolbar install during silent installs (so I lose out there).
Another requirement is that I should not deliberately allow a silent uninstaller that may fail to attempt to uninstall the toolbar (whether it's been installed or not).

Opening the packages up to enable the features you require would immediately decrease site visit revenue and possible toolbar revenues.

In the past I have produced packs without the toolbar and able to be integrated with other packages, but it's not something I'd feature in the packs with my own branding.

Hi,

I was hoping that in this new version 7.1.0 that the silent uninstall switch has been added.

My Company as well has interest in this, however with the lack of a silent uninstall, it is difficult to approve this app.

Thx

Silent uninstall will always be blocked, I've already explained why.
