| I am trying to convert an avi-file into a dvd with avi2dvd.
The avi-file is encoded with h245.
I have installed Cole2k Media -Codec Pack.
I launched ffdshow Video Configuration, clicked Codecs -> H.264 and changed "disabled" into "libavcodec".
I can view the avi-file now in Windows Media Player. So far , so good.
However, when opening the avi-file with, GSpot still gives the message:
Codec: H264/x264 Name: ITU H.264
Stat: Codec(s) are NOT Installed.
In the GSpot menu Tables -> Video List, the codec is listed as:
FourCC: H264 Codec: ITU H.264 Vendor: ITU
Can a compression format be "Known" by GSpot and still not be "Installed"?
Should I change parameters in the ffdshow Video Configuration?
When I create an avs script with AVI2DVD and I want to open it with AVISYNTH, it gives also the message that it does not recognize the "decompression format".
Many thanks for any help

| You may wish to try using ffdshow's VFW feature, I couldnt find much info about whether it will or will not work in AVI2DVD though.
Go to "Cole2k Media - Codec Pack" in your start menu, select "ffdshow VFW" and then click the decoder tab at the top, you'll then see the list of supported formats that can be enabled. | |

| Almost forgot, GSpot's development has been halted for quite some time and it often gives false reports for formats being decoded by ffdshow. | |
