| I have 3 files with this format, I can play them with VLC media player but not with anything else, should these play with windows media player etc when I have the codec pack installed? Also I would like to be able to put them onto dvd so that my daughter can watch them in her room on a standard dvd player and tv, what can I use to do this? | |

| You mean .ogm files.
Yes the codec pack does support them and enables playback of them in almost any player.
The Haali splitter in the pack is used for them.
Are you just having trouble getting media player to open the files?
As for conversion, at the moment there are not many applications to convert them, many applications claim to be able to convert them but I havent heard of any reliable ones.

| Hi, thanks, after my last problems I have not re-installed the codec pack, I will do soon and if I still have problems I will ask again. It seems strange to me that when I download something it always seems to be in one format or another that is difficult to put onto dvd so it will play on a stand alone dvd player. Are there any formats to look out for that are easier than others? How about coverting so it will go onto vcd? Is there any software that may be worth a try? | |

| Many people just dont bother with conversion because it takes so long and is such a problematic process, it's easier just to buy a dvd player that supports the files.
Even the more compatible files often cant be converted properly.
