| If you've set up what you consider to be an ideal playback solution for you please post details of what players you're using for which formats and what you find better in your configuration.

| The only player right now: MPC.
I use it because it supports almost all the known formats and it has internal filters. Plus... it has decent file associations and it supports QuickTime and RealMedia (with aditional codecs). In filters section of this player I've disabled AVI, DTS/AC3, Matroska, MP4, Ogg and RealMedia because I have ffdshow, Haali and the AviSplitter from Gabest (the splitter from Windows is distroyed due to a horrible DVD player I've tested - Fantasy DVD Player).
Zoom Player would be a much superior option (even for DVD playback) but the Pro version is not free and working with filters it's not that easy.
These are really the best video players in my opinion.
