First - a big thank you for the basic codec pack - it's a great solution to play back the bewildering variety video formats.

However, although I checked the InterVideo DVD filters when installing the pack, neither Windows Media Player or RealPlayer will play DVDs.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, thanks for the good feedback.

Are you playing retail or copied DVD's?
For many retail/original/rental DVD's you will come up against copy protection preventing playback on a PC.
You can get around such protection by using SlySoft's AnyDVD (helps the PC to ignore any protection) http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html
Or you could use DVD43 (does the same but not so compatible) http://www.dvd43.com/

If you believe that it may be something else please post a little more detail if possible.
