Hi everybody,

let's hope someone can help me to fix the following problem without having to install Windows from scratch. My scenario was the following when everything still worked fine:
Windows XP SP2
SoundBlaster Live!
Power DVD
Nero Digital
The only codecs I had installed on my computer were the ones that came with Nero Digital and PowerDVD. They have been enough to let me enjoy Divx AC3 movies over my Home Theater System.
Then I came over a movie that had DTS encoded audio...even though PowerDVD should be able to playback DTS I couldn't hear anything so I started to look out for the appropriate codec and came to this one here.
As described in the download page I uninstalled first my NeroDigital codec pack and then installed the Cole2k. After putting the checkmark during installation on DTS I actually could hear the audio from my DTS encoded movie but weirdly it came out ONLY from my Front left and Front right speakers.
So I ran the SoundBlaster diagnostics program and it showed that everything is working fine but during the speaker test, even though 5.1 was selected and recognized, only the two front speakers gave sound....
I tried to uninstall cole2k, uninstall the SoundBlaster programs and drivers, deleting all audio codecs manually from the system properties and then installing only the SoundBlaster again. This should have been a scenario where at least the 5.1 speaker test should have worked, but it didn't. I then added again Nero digital and once more PowerDVD but still nothing.
I continue to hear only Stereo sound!!!!!!

Thanks for helping me on this,
Frank

You can enable ffdshow in the codec packs to decode DTS and AC3, then set the output channels in its mixer to 5.1, in the start menu go to "Cole2k Media - Codec Pack" and select "ffdshow Audio", in the codecs list it displays select "AC3" and change it to "liba52" then change "DTS" to "libdts", next go to the mixer and select the output format you wish to use.
