| Ever since I installed the cole2k media pack standard, there's been a slight pinkish hue color to the monitor. I was just typing something in a word document and the color started to change back and forth between a very slight pinkish hue color and the regular colors. Ever since then the monitor has retained the slight pinkish color to it, when i reboot the machine, the white text in DOS appears to carry the pinkish color. I even tried lowering the red colors on my monitor but it doesn't help much. Any suggestions? | |

| The codec packs don't have any effect on anything other than video playback windows, but the problem you are getting is often caused by a magnet or a non magnetically shielded speaker being placed close to the monitor.
If thats not the case then it could be that the RGB calibration on your monitor has gone off balance, you can do one of three things...
1. Check your monitor connection.
2. (I don't suggest this if you have a fist the size of a mans head or don't have a delicate touch).
Hit the monitor at the side, but I take no responsibility for any damage you may cause.
3. Take it to a computer service center/repair center and have it re-calibrated.
Another fault similar to yours occurs when the GPU on a graphics card has started to burn out (common with ATI and GeForce MX400 based graphics cards), but you would also have funny coloured square patches appearing on the screen aswell. | |
