| installed most recent cole2k codec pack on both a win xp and vista machines.
on the xp, i am able to install the entire pack. but on vista, the installation causes an error, unless i do a custom install and uncheck the h264 portion of the pack. then it installs fine.
is this the way it's supposed to be? on vista installation of the codec can't be done with the h264 configuration feature? or am i doing something wrong?

| Hi, It is not normal to see an error. It sounds like perhaps there is a conflict with something else. If x264 and h264 playback works for you then it is ok to ignore the error.
Due to compatibility the next versions of the codec packs will have DivX removed completely and use ffdshow instead.
If you need any more help let me know and give a little more detail on what error you're seeing. | |

| thx. i figured it was a conflict somewhere, as the package did install fine when i did a custom install and unchecked the h264 box. otherwise all is running great.
i appreciate the info. if an error does pop up at some point with h264 playback i'll contact for advice. | |

no divx h264 support in vista?
