| Hello:
I am trying to install the Nero.Audio.Plugin.Pack V1.5.3.Setup.exe.
I keep getting the error message that Nero Burning ROM must be installed.
I do have Version 8.3 of Nero installed, which incldes Nero Burning ROM.
I have even tried to install Nero.Audio.Plugin.Pack V1.5.3.Setup.exe while my Nero Burning ROM is operating, but I still get the error message that Nero Burning ROM must be installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance.

| Hello Cole:
Thanks!
That file installed just fine.
Where can I contribute to your cause?
Now all I have to do is to figure out how to get Nero Burning ROM to recognize my LAME Codec.
I downloaded the new version 3.98.1 and copied the .dll to the C:/Program Files/Nero/Nero Burning Rom Folder.
I would like Nero Burning ROM to encode WAV files to 320kbps Bit Rate, 48KHz Sample Rate and 24 Bit Sample Size (which is what I use in dbpowerAMP).
When I bring up the Encoder menu and choose the "Lame MP3" option, there is indeed a setting for 320kbps CBR, but when I hit the "Go" button, the resulting Mp3 file is always 0Kb.
Nothing gets encoded.
There is another Mp3 option in the Encoding menu "mp3/mp3Pro".
The highest quality that setting offers is 96kbps Bit Rate, 22KHz Sample Rate and 16 Bit Sample Size.
When I hit the "Go" button, that setting works fine, but the resulting Mp3 file is of course only 96kbps Bit Rate, 22KHz Sample Rate and 16 Bit Sample Size.
Any thoughts about how to get Nero Burning ROM to recognize my new LAME .dll?
Thanks again for your great apps!

| No need to contribute.
Nero uses a special build of the 3.96.1 LAME encoder dll, it can't be replaced with the generic builds that are available.
I personally recommend using the 3.96.1 exe encoder with RazorLame, using VBR at 192k minimum and 320k maximum.
Alternatively you could use the 3.97 exe encoder with RazorLame, but you'd need a patch for RazorLame.
LAME 3.98.2 is the latest version but most applications can't use it properly. It's worth remembering that the latest of anything isn't always the greatest.
Avoid using Constant Bit Rate (CBR) because it causes a smoothing effect, Variable Bit Rate (VBR) is much better.
Nero's "mp3/mp3pro" feature is different to what most people expect. The mp3pro encoder is intended for low bit rates with reasonable quality. To use the normal mp3 encoder just uncheck the pro option, but if I remember right it's limited to a sample rate of 44.1kHz. | |
