| So, I recently installed the DVD Decrypter, and have been putting it to some use. However, now my blu ray player won't recognize my blu ray discs. Since the only change is the software, I am concerned that it has affected the drivers in some way.
Anyone else have this issue, or perhaps know of a solution?
Thanks! | |

| Do you mean that a standalone BluRay player is not playing the discs you're producing with DVD Decrypter? | |

| My laptop has a blu ray drive in it. I am using it to decrypt some dvds. After decrypting many of the dvd's, I was going to watch a blu ray movie, and the drive won't even recognize the disc in the drive. | |

| DVD Decrypter doesn't make any driver changes.
It is possible that you have changed the region of your drive, but you should have seen a prompt.
SlySoft's AnyDVD HD often solves region/protection problems and prevents drive defaults being changed http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvdhd.html?aid=50591

| That didn't seem to work. It is as if the drive doesn't even recognize the blu ray disc. It states there is no disc in the drive when I put one in. It reads DVDs fine, but just seems to have lost whatever it needed to read blu rays | |

| Just to confirm, you are using a player application compatible with BluRay aren't you?
If you are I would suggest contacting the retailer where you bought it or the manufacturer, it sounds like it may be faulty.
I haven't heard of anything that would cripple BluRay playback but still allow DVD playback.

| thanks for the help though. I am going to try and uninstall the drive, and reinstall it. Do sort of a hard reboot on the drive. | |

| I thought I would post a follow up as I was able to replicate the problem you may have been having.
I installed Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra 7.2 which came with an LG BluRay drive. It refused to play the discs and prompted me to update to 7.3 for free in order to play BluRay discs again.
I updated to 7.3, but still the same message appeared and when I refused the update it gave me a message stating that there was no disc in the drive.
Cyberlink's site has a never version of PowerDVD Ultra, however the regular forced updates, crippling of playback and update costs would make it very costly compared to a standalone player.
Cyberlink offered only a 10% discount to upgrade. | |

| Thanks for the update. I will check that route, as it plays some of the discs, but not all of them.
Again, thanks. | |
