| Hi,
I don't know much about codecs and all this stuff but whenever I watch AVI movies, I have the following text in green letters at the top:
Audio track:
Input description: 48000 Hz, 6 channels 448 kbps ac3 (liba52)
Current input bitrate: 448 kbps
I have a lot of movies in AVI format and this is very very annoying. How do I get rid of this text? (I have figured out by now that it's not a setting in Media Player but something more serious than that). Thank you!

| Hi,
It's very likely that it's ffdshow's OSD (On Screen Display) feature.
To get rid of it find and click on "ffdshow Audio" in your start menu.
In the dialogue that appears you should see "OSD" in the left collumn, if the box is ticked click on it to uncheck it, then click "OK" to apply the settings.
Next time you open Media Player the text shouldn't display.

| Hi, thank you for responding but I don't have anything like that installed. There is nothing in the Start Menu called ffdshow Audio in the start menu, I also did a search on my computer for "ffdshow" and nothing came up. Anything else I can try to get rid of that green text? This only happens when playing AVI files in Windows Media Player. Thanks | |

| Hi,
In your previous post you quoted the text containing "liba52" which is normally an ffdshow component (It's AC3 decoder), but has been used in some players.
I would suggest looking at other players you may have installed as they may be the source of the problem.
