| I have never come accross these type of audio files before but now I have several of them and seemingly no way to play them. Is it possible to get them to play in windows media player? Is there a way to convert them to mp3 format, as the whole idea was to be able to put them on my daughters mp3 player? | |

| "Free Lossless Audio Codec" files can be played in Windows Media Player if you have either of the codec packs installed, simply right click on them and select "Open With" followed by "Windows Media Player",
As for converting, I have used Advanced WMA Workshop with mixed success in the past, you may wish to give it a try http://www.litexmedia.com/ | |

| FLAC stands for "Free Lossless Audio Codec'... it is a very high bitrate that give a much more robust rip of an audio CD. imagine it as a slipstreamed .wav file without the huge size.
try downloading Monkey's Audio and installing. it will work fine. if not, monkies audio has the ability to convr from FLAC to .wav via a small GUI or CLI.
accorning to the site:
Monkey's Audio 3.99
Features:
Media Center, Winamp, and more support supported by many popular players and rippers
i have used it with both winamp and mp 10.
good luck!
