| I am having trouble getting sound to work on certain files. It is not all files, but I can see the picture and not hear the sound. It brings up an error relating to MPEG layer III. I tried getting rid of all codecs and then reinstalling cole2k, but I am still getting the same error. | |

| Hi, You may wish to try playing the problematic files in Media Player Classic or Zoom player.
The error can be caused by a few things:
The audio was encoded using an unstable encoder (lame alpha/beta).
There may be multiple mp3 audio tracks eg. multilingual encoded avi's that require a suitable player.
Another possible problem can be incompatible MP3 hardware acceleration on a soundcard (rare, difficult to detect). | |

| Yeh I tried zoom player, no luck. Do you think uninstalling and reinstalling soundcard could help? | |

| No that wont help, give Media Player Classic or VLC Player a try and if they dont work consider getting the video files from a different location. | |
