| I have a few different movies that when played b4 i downloaded the codec pack had no sound. With the codec they have sound, but any spoken words are very very quiet while the background music etc is normal volume.. what is with that??

| You've altered the defaults for AC3 and DTS audio to use ffdshow at a guess. By default ffdshow uses 5.1 channels rather than stereo.
Its easy to solve, click Start, goto Programs, then Cole2k Media - Codec Pack and select "ffdshow Audio"
Set the mixer as shown in the picture:

| thanks for that.. but how do I change the default to use ffdshow audio?
