| upgraded my cole2k codec packs and installed the dvd rip pack. (may 09)
since then my firewall/antivirus package keeps advising that 'dvdshrink 2.3.exe is attempting to access a file'. with the threat name being HeurEngine.Packed.ExeSt
i've googled this threat but it returns very little hits and most are very vague as to whether there is a threat.
i am currious as to why dvdshrink should be attempting to do anything, when apparently not active.
virus checker et al is pc tools internet security
can anyone advise what HeurEngine.Packed.ExeSt is and should it be running in the cole2k suite?

| Hi, it is very likely that the virus checker is picking it up as a false positive.
The versions of DVD Shrink in the package have been used for quite some years with no previous reports.
The packages test clean under main stream virus scanners.
If you do a search in google for "PC Tools Internet Security false positive" you'll see quite a few results http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=PC+Tools+Internet+Security+f...

| Many thanks. I didn't really think it was DVD Shrink, as have used Cole2k codecs for a long while with no issues.
As for PC Tools, well the search continues for the perfect Internet Security suite!
Many thanks for the prompt post and for the new search term for such alerts (false positive).
cheers
