| I'm trying to view avi's recorded on a Swann DVDR security system but my media player (Windows XP) won't let me - tells me either the file is corrupt - i don't think so it plays fine direct from the DVR HDD - or that an unsupported codec is used. Swann Tech suggested downloading a codec application from Cole2k - which I've just done & still it won't work - any suggestions????

| Hi, I haven't really had much to do with Swann, but the last item I tested from them used Morgan JPEG compression (AKA MJPEG).
Morgan JPEG is supported by my pack, but in some instances it may not be enabled due to other codec packs altering settings.
To make sure it's enabled go to "Start/Programs/Cole2k Media - Codec Pack" in your start menu and select "ffdshow Video Configuration".
Now, to the right you should see 3 collumns, the first being "Format".
Scroll down a little until you see "MJPEG", then click the collumn next to it which probably says "disabled", a drop down list will appear and from that you need to select "libavcodec". | |
