| i have a WMP10 and i use it for all video/audio playback. However, i just realized that it doesn't play MP4 which made me stuck. And therefore i search on the net and found this codec pack. And i supposed my WMP10 will play my MP4 video immediately after i installed this pack. But it doesn't. My WMP10 still does NOT recognize MP4. And when i force it to open the MP4 video, it produces the sounds only, no images.
What can i do now? Please help. Thanks. | |

Which codec pack did you install?
Are you sure that the MP4 file is a video, MP4 files are also used just for audio.
It is possible that the person who created the file used a commercial codec or an unstable test codec (It is even possible that the file is not an MP4 file at all).
MP4 files are not a recognised file type for Windows Media Player, you have to right click on the file, select "Open With", then selct "Choose Program", then select "Windows Media Player" from the list (Remember to check the box that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" (This is not done by the codec packs because different people use different players). | |
