The advanced and standard packs are already optimised, the pre-set options should be fine for you and will stop any conflict (simply use either package and leave the checked/unchecked options as they are).

I would however recommend avoiding adding a 3rd party DVD player, thats a mistake many people make, which eventually results in conflicts.

Hope thats helpful to you

Hello cole
I downloaded your media pack (initially the standard, then the advanced). Thank you for putting these together.
I am experiencing an audio problem with intervideo (Cybercinema does not give me any audio output at all). With the intervideo codec, the sound is weird when playing a dvd. it's like there is a digital voice with cracks in the background, like an echo... It is worst with bass sounds.

I do have this problem only when I play the dvd from within MCE 2005 ot WMP 10. Before installing your codec, I had intervideo Xpack. I had the same problem with that Xpack. The only way it worked was when I played the DVD from within the XPack mini dvd player.

Would you have any recommendations on things I should try? Any help would be much appreciated.

Olivier
PS: Strangely the only time I managed to play a DVD properly within MCE was when I had installed for a week or so an Hauppage PVR card (250)... Since I uninstalled and sold it, I am back to square zero.

PVR cards often feature MPEG2 hardware acceleration, CyberLinks playback filter allows you to enable hardware acceleration, an unfortunate side effect on removing the card with the hardware decoder is that you may lose playback.

Attached to this post is a registry fix that will disable hardware acceleration.
Simply execute it and confirm merge to registry.

Just another quick question along the same lines.

My HP MCE box comes with Intervideo WinDVD preinstalled and I just want to add the codecs for other formats and leave MCE using the WinDVD codecs that it is happy with for TV and DVDs.

Should I uncheck the Intervideo codecs in the Cole2k installer to avoid overwrting the registry entries for the WinDVD codecs, or will this cause the installer to mess up the WinDVD instalation? The answer is probably obvious, but without installing the pair on an second machine I can't test it out.

Cheers,

Martyn

Hi, it should be ok with it, it won't affect WinDVD's operation or upset the installation.
